This Good Day

Nakagawa Sōen

The anatomy of this bicycle is not quite right, but that is not the point. The painting captures the essence of a bicycle. The accompanying inscription reads ‘this good day’. It is taken from a Zen proverb, which invites us to live in the moment and make the most of each day.
