The Virgin Mary with the Christ Child Holding a Cross

Meester IAM van Zwoll, c. 1465

As mandated by the donor, the Waller-Fonds priority is to collect the earliest Dutch prints. However, they are extremely rare and hardly ever come on the market. Nevertheless, in recent years, with the help of other funds, it has been possible to acquire a number of seminal 15th-century works, including this touching engraving by a silversmith active in Zwolle.
