The Miraculous Draught of Fishes

Schelte Adamsz. Bolswert, 1618 - 1659

After toiling all night long, the fishermen return empty handed. Jesus asks them to cast their nets once more, with a splendid catch as a result. Overwhelmed by this miracle, the men become disciples of Jesus. The engraver based the middle section of this depiction on a large triptych in Onze-Lieve-Vrouw over de Dijle in Mechelen (Belgium). Three plates were needed for this immense print.
