De opgang naar het Kapitool met het witte paard van de nieuw gekozen paus, begeleid door een priester met een kruis. Op de voorgrond de toegestroomde menigte, links schapen aan de kade van de rivier. Rechts de trappen van het Kapitool met de grote standbeelden op voetstukken van paarden. In de verte andere gebouwen van Rome: de Engelenburcht en de koepel van de Sint Pieter.
