The Choir Screen of the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam
Johannes Lutma (1624-1689) (mentioned on object), 1654
Johannes Lutma the Younger produced this etching of the choir screen in the Nieuwe Kerk. The inscription states that it was designed by his father, Johannes Lutma the Elder. The structure of the screen is based on Gothic examples in Dutch churches, often made of oak with openwork brass panels. An entire choir screen of brass had never been made before.
