Tea service

Manufacture Oud-Loosdrecht, c. 1774 - c. 1778

Tea services represented a significant part of the production of the Loosdrecht porcelain factory. On display here are a teapot, milk jug and sugar bowl along with other less familiar parts of a tea service, such as a slop bowl, which is used to rinse and warm the cups between two ‘courses’, and a drip catcher (pattipan), which catches the drips from the spout of the teapot.

    Spoelkom van porselein, beschilderd in sepia met figuren op een grondje met landschapsachtergrond. Op de achterkant een grondje met bomen en een rotsblok. Langs de mondrand een bietenrood fries van afwisselend staand gearceerde en schuin gearceerde blokken, aan de onderkant afgebiesd met rocailles met afhangende bladslingers in goud. Gouden bies langs mond- en voetrand.
