Support of a Tangent Sight

Opzetsteun die tegen de achterkant van de slotverhevenheid gemonteerd wordt, met een haak in een vierkante inkeping in de slotsteun grijpend en van achter met een schroef aangedraaid. De opzetstang wordt in een nok acherop de steun geplaatst, naar voren hellend, en kan op en neer bewegen. Het opschrift verwijst naar geschut voor een kustbatterij. De twee opzetstangen, beschreven onder nr. NG-MC-1889-29, passen in deze steun. Demonstratiemodel of proefmodel.

Entry

Support for a tangent sight to be mounted to the rear of the vent patch of a gun, secured by a bolt in a square indentation in the vent patch. The sight is inserted in an inclined position in a protruding notch with a bolt at the rear, and can move up and down. The inscription refers to ordnance for a coastal battery. This support for a tangent sight was found without catalogue number; the identification is based on elimination only. The two tangent sights of NG-MC-1889-29-A and NG-MC-1889-29-B fit in the support.
