Stem with Four White Lilies

Catharina Lintheimer, 1727

While Catharina Lintheimer here follows the isolated format of scientific drawings, she focuses more on the details of full blooms. For this work she took inspiration from an album of botanical drawings in her possession. The album was originally compiled by Simon Schijnvoet (the husband of Cornelia de Rijck whose work is on view on the opposite wall) and contained drawings by Alida Withoos.
