Standard lamp on standard-lamp-shaped table

Lucassen (signed by artist), 1968

Standard lamps are a recurring motif in the work from the 1960s of Amsterdam artist Reinier Lucassen (generally called Lucassen for short). Here he placed an example on a side table, which also adopted the shape of a standard lamp because a cloth was spread over the top of it. If you look carefully, you will also discover all kinds of surrealist images in everyday reality.
