Soldaten rond een kachel

Rond een kolenkachel zitten en staan vier soldaten. Zij drinken koffie en roken. Rechts staat de kok in een wit pak. Op de kachel staat een koffiekan en voor de kachel een emmer met kolen. Op de achtergrond zijn kleine kastjes te zien waar de privé spullen van de soldaten in zitten. Een deken hangt over een touw. In de grote grijze kast zaten de bezems e.d.. De ruimte is zowel slaapzaal als de plek waar de soldaten zaten te schrijven, praten en koffie dronken.
