Yamaoka Tesshū, 1836 - 1888
This work by the Zen master Tesshu bursts with energy. The inscription bears witness to his motto ‘live completely, die completely’: ‘Who knows where a human face ends? This is an old friend, lying under peach blossoms, smiling at the spring wind.
