Explanatory note

  • Het portret was oorspronkelijk bestemd voor de tweede reeks 'Twelve Portraits' uitgegeven in 1902, maar werd om onbekende redenen niet opgenomen. Henley schreef de kwatrijnen voor Nicholson's in 1898 verschenen album 'London Types'.
