Portret van Gerrit van Schoorl, volgens het opschrift op verso 'Plattelands prente koopman te Alkmaar'. Een dergelijke prentenkoopman of prentverkoper was in feite een marskramer die rondtrekkend van plaats naar plaats prenten verkocht.
