Portrait of a Boy

Edward Wallowitch (mentioned on object), c. 1965 - 1966

Little is known about Edward Wallowitch. He had a relationship with the artist Andy Warhol and took the photographs for his Campbell’s Soup Can series. He also photographed for the book My Appalachia: A Reminiscence (1966), in which the writer Rebecca Caudill reflected on where she had spent her childhood. The book presents a loving yet unsentimental picture of one of America’s poorest regions.
