Portret van Jacob de Vos Willemsz. (1774-1844) in een landschap. De man is ten halven lijve weergegeven, leunend op een met gras begroeid heuveltje waarop, vlak voor zijn armen een boek ligt. Hij draagt een jas, gestreept vest, een witte shawl en een hoge zwarte hoed.
