W.J. Ploy (attributed), 1663. Elisabeth van Oosten (1660 - 1714), half-sister of Johannes van Rees, as a child. Oil on canvas. This portrait is traditionally assumed to show a member of the Van Riebeeck family. Jan van Riebeeck (1619 - 1677) arrived at Cape of Good Hope in 1652 and established a supply base for VOC ships sailing to Batavia (Jakarta). The actual identity of the subject is not certain.

    Portret van Elisabeth van Oosten (1660-1714), als kind. Staande, ten voeten uit, voor een balustrade. In de rechterhand een veer, in de linkerhand een appel. Op de balustrade zit een eekhoorn. Vroeger beschouwd als een portret van een meisje, wellicht uit de familie van Riebeeck. Pendant van SK-A-809.
