Portret van Karel I, koning van Engeland (1600-49), in een architecturale omlijsting met allegorische figuren en historische voorstellingen. De koning is ten halven lijve voorgesteld, naast een gevleugelde zandloper met schedel, aan weerszijden festoenen met symbolen van links de vergankelijkheid en rechts rijkdom en macht. Bovenaan personificaties van Historie, de weeklagende Gerechtigheid en Faam. Links Geloof, rechts Hoop. Onderaan links de heersende koning Karel I gezeten op de troon, rechts zijn onthoofding I in 1649. Alle scènes toegelicht met teksten. Pendant van SK-A-3882, portret van Cromwell.
