The Braat Machine Factory was established in Surabaya on Java. The company manufactured iron railway bridges and machines for tea and sugar enterprises. This album contains photographs meant to convey a forward-looking image of Braat, for instance of the modern company buildings.

    Foto album met bruine lederen omslag, 68 kartonnen bladen en enkele (loszittende) schutbladen. Het album bevat op beide bladzijden in totaal 171 zwart-wit foto's van de N.V. Machinefabriek Braat te Soerabaja, Soekaboemi en Tegal uit de periode 1931-1937. De foto's tonen verschillende onderwerpen, zoals (de opbouw van) verschillende fabrieken en gebouwen, constructiewerken, fabricage van machines en machineonderdelen en transport. Sommige foto's hebben opschriften op de achterzijde of bordjes naast de machine geplaatst of opschriften mee afgedrukt op de foto, met informatie over plaats en datum van vervaardiging, soort machine en plaats van bestemming of opdrachtgever.
