Christiaan Otto Roelofs, 1900 - 1930
A picnic with sandwiches on the lawn, a crazy stunt in the backyard, or physical education in the gym. Medical student Roelofs was always there with his hand-held camera to capture the lives of his parents, brothers and sisters, and his girlfriend Charlotte, who was also studying to be a doctor. Photography around 1900 heralded a great change: it became possible to take snapshots of everyday life.
