Pair of gloves

anonymous, anoniem, anonymous, anoniem, c. 1800 - c. 1825

Etiquette dictated that women – also those of more modest means – wear gloves to cover their bare arms. When short puffed sleeves became fashionable in the early 19th century, gloves became longer. During the summer, cotton was in demand, and in the winter leather.
