Oxford Street

attributed to Emil Otto Hoppé, 1929

In the 1920s a young generation of photographers began capturing modern life, of which the telephone and telegraph, modern offices, electricity, automobiles and aeroplanes were important symbols. The hectic pedestrian traffic on the street was part of this as well, as is subtly depicted in this photograph of three pairs of legs.
