Oval bowl

De Metaale Pot, c. 1695 - c. 1715

The desire to make earthenware objects with a black ground was probably prompted by the popularity of Asian lacquerware. But black enamel was very difficult to apply, so black-glazed Delft earthenware is extremely rare.
