De tekening is gemaakt tijdens Gordon's tweede of vierde expeditie door de noordwestelijke Kaapprovincie, van augustus 1778 tot januari 1779 en november 1785 tot maart 1786. Sommige (soort)namen kunnen zijn gewijzigd, gezien reorganisatie in plantentaxonomie gedurende de afgelopen jaren.
