Ornamentale plafondschildering met bloem- en plantmotieven
attributed to Elias van Nijmegen, 1695 - 1755
Lacquered cabinet from the palace of the Frisian Stadholders in Leeuwarden. The sides comprise panels of 17th century Chinese screens of so-called Coromandel lacquer. Carving on the wainscotting and the moulded frame along the ceiling are of gilt lime. Northern Netherlands, late 17th century. The ceiling painting on canvas is attributed to Elias van Nijmegen (1667 - 1755).
