Observatory

Jaap Mooy (signed by artist), 1955

It is a wondrous world that Jaap Mooy drew in 1955. It might even be called a steampunk version of the International Space Station. Two years later Sputnik 1 was the first satellite to go into orbit. With this drawing Mooy stood on the threshold of an era in which the fantasy of space travel became a reality.
