Links een dame, staand aan een spinet. In het midden, zittend aan een tafel, een violist. Op de tafel liggen een luit en een viool (viola da gamba). Op de voorgrond staat een cello en ligt een luit op de grond. Verder zijn een vechtende hond en kat te zien.
