Money in mine Pockets
John Cawse, 1799-11-04
To the English, perhaps the most aggravating thing about the Dutch was their indifference to political and military events in the Republic. All that mattered was the potential for profit, hence these merchants sell gunpowder to the French and ammunition to the English. They care little who rules, as long as they have money in their pockets.
