Model of the Upper Part of a Made Mast

Ronde mast met achthoekige top, zalings en rijschaal. De mast zelf bestaat uit een achtkantige mastkoning omringd door acht wangen; de wangen eindigen onder de oren. De delen worden door kuipbanden bijeengehouden. Een aantal korte planken om de mast heen vormt van voren een plat rijbed, aan de zijkanten de hommerstukken en oren en achter een halve achtkant. De langszalings zijn met een messing zwaluwstaart op de oren vastgezet, klampen op de hommerstukken ondersteunen de langszalings en de kalven. Op de langszalings liggen drie dwarszalings. Deze mast is gemaakt volgens de 'Hollandse methode' (zie NG-MC-127). Dit model kan uiteengenomen worden.

Entry

Construction model of a round mast with an octagonal head, trestletrees, crosstrees and a rubbing paunch.

The mast itself is made of an octagonal spindle and eight side fishes. The side fishes end below the bibbs. The parts are held together with mast hoops. A number of short planks encircle the mast, forming a flat furring to the front, the hounds and bibbs on the sides, and half an octagon at the back. Cleats on the hounds support the chocks and trestletrees, which are joined to the bibbs with brass coaks and topped with three crosstrees. The rubbing paunch is flat and square. The model can be taken apart.
