Wooden model of a turnbuckle, painted black.

No thread is indicated on the model. It has a shackle with a bolt on one side, a thimble on the other.

This model represents the turnbuckle N° 6 according to the regulations of 1858.1J.M. Obreen, Catalogus der verzameling modellen van het Departement van Marine, The Hague 1858, no. 596. Pilaar describes turnbuckle numbers 1 to 5.2J.C. Pilaar, Handleiding tot de kennis van het tuig, de masten, zeilen, enz. van het schip, Amsterdam 1858 (3rd ed. rev. by G.P.J. Mossel), pp. 161-63, fig. 123. The numbers refer to the size and place in the rigging.
