Explanatory note

  • Het rapport waarnaar in het opschrift op de binnenkant van het deksel verwezen wordt, is niet teruggevonden. Asmus vermeld een model van een broodkist in het rapport van zijn reis door Frankrijk in 1797.

Entry

Model of a simple wooden chest, lined with fabric.

The cover can be taken off, and the sides can be folded down when the chest is empty. It has two rope handles at the short sides.

The report the inscription on the inside of the lid refers to has not been found. Jochem Pietersz Asmus (1755-1837) mentions a model of a bread chest in the report of his journey through France in 1797.1HNA 2.01.29.01 Dept. Marine, inv. no. 451-18.
