Blokmodel van een achterschip met gewrongen spiegel, hol wulf en klein dicht hek. Het stuurtoestel is in een halfronde kast tegen het hek aan ingebouwd. Het roer heeft een ronde gebogen roerkoning, voorzien van een getand kwadrant. De as van het stuurwiel loopt naar achteren en eindigt in een pakking op de roerkoning; deze pakking draait, zodat het roer kan draaien zonder de as te bewegen. Een klein tandwiel op de as brengt de beweging van het stuurwiel over op het kwadrant; deze overbrenging is in een beugel gevat die aan de as hangt en waarin ook het kwadrant hangt.

Entry

Block model of a ship’s stern with a round tuck, a hollow counter and a small taffrail. The steering gear is built in a semi-circular casing on deck. The round-headed rudder is fitted with a toothed quadrant. The shaft of the steering wheel runs aft and ends in a fitting on the rudder head; the fitting enables the rudder to turn without moving the shaft. A small cogwheel on the shaft moves the quadrant; this connection is encased in a brace hanging from the shaft, which also supports the quadrant.
