Maria Moninckx (mentioned on object), c. 1680 - c. 1704

This album consists of 194 sheets depicting European and non-European flowers cultivated by the botanist Agnes Block (1629-1704). She commissioned several artists, including women, to depict her specimens. Block had the drawings bound in albums, of which this is the only intact example. The open page here bears the signature of Maria Moninckx, one of the women artists who worked for Block.
