Lijf versierd met 'point de Bruxelles' (Brusselse gaaskant) tussenzetsels en stroken

Madame Heymans Besselink, 1902

On the 2nd of June 1902 Elisabeth P. Fok Fraterman married Jan van Eijck in Utrecht. Her fashionable wedding-dress was made by the renowned atelier of mrs Heymans Besselink who – according to tradition – ordered the lace for the wedding-dress in Bruxelles. No expanses were spared and for the skirt alone 11 meters of satin duchesse was used. This silk is of old the fabric for wedding-dresses.
