De man, mogelijk met de naam Meyer, draagt een groot voorwerp onder zijn arm en is waarschijnlijk een bemanningslid van de Willem Barentsz. Blad 13 verso uit een schetsboek met 110 bladen betekend tijdens de expeditie naar Nova Zembla in 1880.
