Christus wordt aan het kruis genageld terwijl toeschouwer toekijken (Lucas 23:33). Ook de twee dieven worden aan hun kruisen gebonden.In de achtergrond de huilende Maria, getroost door Johannes en Maria Magdalena. De prent heeft een Latijns onderschrift en maakt deel uit van een serie over de passie, dood en wederopstanding van Christus.
