Gerard ter Borch (II) (signed by artist), 1670 - 1681

Naast interieurscènes schilderde Gerard ter Borch bovenal portretten. Een van de opdrachtgevers daarvan was Jacob de Graeff, regent van het Amsterdamse burgerweeshuis. De Graeff is gekleed als officier. Zijn degen hangt aan een met bont afgezette riem om zijn schouder.

    Portret van Jacob de Graeff, in officiersuniform. Kniestuk, staande tussen een zuil en een tafel waarop zijn hoed ligt. Zijn rechterhand steunend op een wandelstok.
