Sample of folded iron.

According to the inventory the sample was folded cold and not hammered.1J.M. Obreen et al., handwritten inventory list for items 944 to 1431, 1884, manuscript in HNA 476 RMA, inv. no. 1089, no. 956. This sample was procured by W. de Fremery from the Krupp factory in Essen in 1858. The Dutch Navy started negotiations with Alfred Krupp in 1857 and later started buying ordnance from Krupp.
