De centaur Nessus is veerman bij een rivier. Als hij Deïanira overzet, probeert hij haar te roven en galoppeert hij met haar weg. Hercules die al op de andere oever stond, spant zijn boog om Nessus neer te schieten. Titel in het Latijn in ondermarge.
