Portret van Hendrik Merkus baron de Kock (1779-1845). Legercommandant en na 1826 luitenant-gouverneur-generaal. Staande, ten halven lijve met de steek in de rechterhand geleund tegen het piedestal van een zuil, de linkerhand in de zij. Op de achtergrond een landschap. Onderdeel van een reeks van portretten van de gouverneurs-generaal van het voormalige Nederlands Oost-Indië.
