Entry

Wooden ‘bread-and-butter’ style half block model of the starboard side of a schooner, mounted on a rectangular wooden backboard with decorative corners, painted black.

The model features a very sharp clipper bow and a counter stern, but does not have a rudder. The sheer rises forward. One sheer rail is indicated. The hull is V-shaped and left unpainted below the waterline, exposing the ‘bread-and-butter style planking. The keel drops towards the stern.

The name of the builder and the building date are from the inventory list.1J.M. Obreen et al., handwritten inventory list for items 944 to 1431, 1884, manuscript in HNA 476 RMA, inv. no. 1089, nos. 1274-1275.
