Gepolychromeerd mallenmodel (stuurboord) van een tweemaster. De huid boven het barkhout is gesloten en voorzien van een verschansing. Gewrongen spiegel, hol wulf, gesloten hek met één licht, geen zijgalerij; breed recht roer met vierkante roerkoning. Zeeg naar voor en achter iets oplopend, één barkhout en één reehout. Iets gepiekt rondspant. Schaal ca. 1:30 (afgeleid).

Explanatory note

  • De brik van 7-8 stukken Zeemeeuw, lang 80 voet, werd in 1800 door R. Dorsman te Amsterdan gebouwd; wachtschip te Rotterdam in 1814, voor de sloop verkocht in 1816.

Entry

Polychromed wooden half bracket model of the starboard side of a two-masted ship, mounted on a rectangular black, wooden backboard.

The side of the ship is depicted by ribbands attached to frame moulds. Above the wale the side is planked. A rail on stanchions is fitted along the entire length of the ship. The sheer rises towards both ends. One wale and a sheer rail are indicated, both are painted black. The bow features an empty beakhead and a knighthead. The stern has a round tuck, a hollow counter and a taffrail with one light. Below the stern a broad and straight square-headed rudder is indicated. The hull is almost round and painted white below the waterline. The position of two masts and the bowsprit is shown in a truncated form.

The 7- to 8-gun brig Zeemeeuw, 80 feet long, was built by R. Dorsman in Amsterdam in 1800.1J.M. Obreen, Catalogus der verzameling modellen van het Departement van Marine, The Hague 1858, no. 363.
