Gepolychromeerd stapelmodel (stuurboord) van een tweemast raderstoomschip. Het model heeft een klippersteven met krul. Elliptisch hek met roer met ronde roerkoning (Amerikaans roer) en afgerond blad. Eén gesloten raderkast in de zijde, een schoorsteen aan dek. De zeeg loopt naar voren op; het onderwaterschip is een rondspant met vlakke bodem. Achterop het model spant- en waterlijnen en aantekeningen voor de werf. De plank waarop het model gebouwd is, is a-symmetrisch. Schaal 1:20 (schaal op model).

Entry

Polychromed wooden ‘bread-and-butter’ style half block model of the starboard side of a two-masted paddle steamer mounted on a rectangular wooden backboard that has been painted white.

The white-painted side is closed and features a closed paddle box. The deck is closed and flush with the side. The railcap is painted black. The model has a clipper bow decorated with a gold painted scroll. The stern is elliptical. Below the stern a round-headed rudder with a rounded blade is indicated. The sheer rises forward. The hull is round with a flat bottom and painted a metallic copper colour below the waterline. The position of two masts and the bowsprit is shown in a truncated form. Both masts rake considerably.

On the back of the model frame lines, waterlines and some notes for the yard can be found.

The wooden paddle steamer Ternate, 42 metres long, was built from 1874 to 1877 in Surabaya as one of a series of four paddle steamers for the Dutch Colonial Navy.1A.J.
