Gepolychromeerd stapelmodel (bakboord) van een tweemast raderstoomschip. Het model heeft een vallende voorsteven met een dubbele bocht erin. Elliptisch hek met roer met ronde roerkoning (Amerikaans roer) en afgerond blad. Eén gesloten raderkast in de zijde. De zeeg loopt naar voren op; het onderwaterschip is een rondspant met vlakke bodem.

  • Het houten raderstoomschip Brombeek werd in 1862 door de firma Nering, Bögel & Dunlop te Dassoon (Rembang-Java) gebouwd voor de Gouvernementsmarine. Het was voorzien van een schoenertuig.

Entry

Polychromed wooden ‘bread-and-butter’ style half block model of the port side of a two-masted paddle steamer, mounted on a rectangular wooden backboard that has been painted white.

The white-painted side is closed and features a closed paddle box. The deck is closed and flush with the side. The railcap is painted black. At the bow, the model has a raking stem with a double curve. The stern is elliptical. Below the stern a round-headed rudder with a rounded blade is indicated. The sheer rises forward. The hull is round with a flat bottom and painted a metallic copper colour below the waterline. The position of two masts and the bowsprit is shown in a truncated form. Both masts rake considerably.

The wooden paddle steamer Bronbeek was built in 1862 by Nering, Bögel & Dunlop in Dassoon near Rembang on the island of Java for the Dutch Colonial Navy.1A.J. Vermeulen, De schepen van de Koninklijke Marine en die der gouvernementsmarine 1814-1962, The Hague 1962, p. 368. It had a schooner rig.
