Blokmodel (stuurboord) van een tweemaster. In de boeg heeft het twee klusgaten boven elkaar, de kraanbalk staat ver naar achteren. Rond achterschip met een kluisgat; recht roer staande op een hieling, afgerond roerblad. De zeeg is vlak, een barkhout. De bodem is plat en voorzien van twee kimkielen. Een mast in het midden, een achter, en een boegspriet. Schaal 1:40 (schaal op model).

Explanatory note

  • In 1858 werd aan de oostzijde van de Noord-Hinderbank in de Noordzee een lichtschip van 28 m naar dit model gelegd. De grote mast droeg een lantaarn met acht lampen en lichtkaatsers.

Entry

Wooden half block model of the starboard side of a two-masted vessel, mounted on a rectangular white painted wooden backboard with a stand.

The side of the vessel is fully planked and detailed with two openings with bollards. The bow features two hawseholes and a knighthead next to the bowsprit. The cathead is placed far back. The round stern features a hawsehole. A long, straight rudder with a rounded blade is fitted to the sternpost. The sheer is flat. One wale is indicated. The hull has an almost flat bottom and two bilge keels. The position of two masts and the bowsprit is shown in a truncated form.

The lightship, which measures 28 metres in length, that was built to this design was the first to be moored east of Noordhinder Bank off the coast of Zeeland in the North Sea in the year 1858. The mainmast carried a lantern with eight lights and reflectors.
