Entry

Polychromed wooden half bracket model of the starboard side of a launch, mounted on a rectangular wooden backboard.

The side of the vessel is depicted by ribbands attached to frame moulds, the gunwale is planked and painted yellow and red. The model has a pointed bow; the stern has a square tuck with a transom. The stempost is curved, the sternpost is straight. The sheer rises towards both ends. The hull is S-bottomed and painted white below the wale.

According to Obreen this type of launch was called a Marquise.1J.M. Obreen, Catalogus der verzameling modellen van het Departement van Marine, The Hague 1858, no. 449.
