Entry

Polychromed wooden half bracket model of the starboard side of a ship, mounted on a rectangular black, wooden backboard.

The side of the ship is depicted by ribbands attached to frame moulds. The sheer rises towards both ends. One wale is indicated and painted black. The bow features a knee and a large bollard timber. The stern has a round tuck and a hollow counter. Below the stern a straight, square-headed rudder is indicated. The hull is slightly S-bottomed and painted white below the waterline.

The model is rather basic and crude compared to other half models from the Navy Model Room.

This model was identified by Obreen as the brig Meeuw of 1804,1J.M. Obreen, Catalogus der verzameling modellen van het Departement van Marine, The Hague 1858, no. 365. but no documentation of such a vessel has been found in the Navy records.

Scale unknown.
