Zwart geschilderd ruitvormig grafbord van Arnoldus van Wachtendonck, plaatsvervangend directeur van Bengalen (1665-1668). Gemaakt van Indiaas hout met geprofileerde houten lijst. In het midden gehelmd wapen: een heraldische lelie op een geel veld. Helmkleden en hoofd van een zwarte man als helmteken. Daaromheen opschrift in gele letters: 'Obyt W.A. Den 13 AuGusT Ano 1668'.

Explanatory note

  • Het grafbord is afkomstig uit het koor van de in 1767 door de Nederlanders gebouwde kerk te Chinsurah, India. Deze kerk is in 1978 afgebroken? [Dick de Jong, 2002]
