Portret van Godart Alexander Gerard Philip baron van der Capellen (1778-1848). Gouverneur-generaal (1816-26). Ten halven lijve, zittend in een stoel. In de document in de rechterhand, gebarend met de linkerhand. Links een tafel waarop een commandostaf en een steek. Onderdeel van een reeks van portretten van de gouverneurs-generaal van het voormalige Nederlands Oost-Indië.
