Four jabots

anoniem, c. 1800 - c. 1810

Jabots are ruffles attached – as extra decoration – to the vertical split at the centre front of a man’s shirt. Rarely have articles of clothing or accessories come down to us unused and in their original packaging. These jabots have been preserved because the family had a large house with an attic and great regard for (family) history.
