Fashion Sketches for Summer Gowns
from: Gazette du Bon Ton. Art – Modes & Frivolités, Raoul Dufy (1877-1953), hand-coloured lithographs, 1920
The fabrics of these summer gowns were designed by the artist Raoul Dufy and were produced by the renowned silk manufacturer Bianchini Férier, who employed Dufy as a designer from 1912 until 1928. Their collaboration helped to make Dufy one of the pre-eminent textile designers of the 20th century. One of the cloaks is a creation by Poiret.
